Hors normes (The Specials) is the new film from the director duo Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache (the makers of Intouchables). The film tells the story of two good friends who dedicate their heart and soul to autistic children who have no place in society without them. The disarming children immediately win your heart. Bruno has been running a shelter for autistic children who have nowhere else to go for more than 20 years. When parents and care institutions really don't know anymore, Bruno gives them a home. His good friend Malek trains young people from difficult neighborhoods with his organization to guide these children. During this process, humorous and confrontational situations alternate and special friendships arise.

De film vertelt het bijzondere verhaal van twee goede vrienden die zich met hart en ziel inzetten voor autistische kinderen die zonder hen geen plek hebben in de maatschappij. De film is uit het leven gegrepen, met ijzersterke rollen van acteurs Vincent Cassel en Reda Kateb. De ontwapenende kinderen winnen meteen je hart. Al meer dan 20 jaar runt Bruno (Cassel) een opvang voor autistische kinderen die nergens anders terecht kunnen. Wanneer ouders en zorginstellingen het echt niet meer weten, geeft Bruno hen een thuis. Zijn goede vriend Malek (Kateb) leidt met zijn organisatie jongeren uit moeilijke buurten op tot begeleiders van deze kinderen. Tijdens dit traject wisselen humoristische en confronterende situaties zich af en ontstaan er bijzondere vriendschappen.
